About VTSTRA
VTSTRA is the statewide association representing Vermont’s short-term rental owners, hosts, property managers, and supporting businesses. We advocate for responsible hosting, reasonable public policy, private property rights, and a strong tourism economy.
The Opportunity
VTSTRA is seeking a creative, digitally skilled person to manage our social media and support ongoing membership campaigns.
Working directly with the Executive Director, you will create content that explains VTSTRA’s work, shares member stories, strengthens community engagement, and encourages more Vermonters to join our community.
Responsibilities
Manage VTSTRA’s Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn accounts.
Create and maintain a consistent content calendar.
Write, design, schedule, and publish engaging posts.
Produce graphics, short videos, reels, and stories.
Monitor engagement, messages, audience growth, and content performance.
Identify timely content related to Vermont tourism, short-term rentals, small businesses, and property ownership.
Assist with newsletters, collateral design, and website updates.
Build a reusable library of photos, videos, graphics, templates, and testimonials.
Qualifications
Applicants should have experience with:
Social media content creation and management.
Canva or similar design software.
Short-form video creation and editing.
Clear, conversational writing.
Content planning and basic social media analytics.
Squarespace or similar website platforms.
We are looking for someone who is creative, organized, reliable, comfortable working independently, and able to develop content without detailed direction. Applicants should be comfortable communicating with business owners and people across the political spectrum.
Experience
This position is open to students, recent graduates, freelancers, early-career professionals, and others with the right skills. A specific degree is not required. Experience with Vermont tourism, small businesses, public policy, or short-term rentals is helpful but not required.
Applicants will be asked to provide examples of relevant social media, design, marketing, or communications work.
Schedule and Compensation
This is a remote, paid position beginning in September 2026. The schedule is flexible, with approximately 10–16 hours of work per week. Occasional participation in Vermont meetings, events, interviews, or content-gathering activities may be requested.
Compensation is $18–$22 per hour, depending on experience.
How to Apply
Send a cover letter, résumé, and relevant work samples to director@vtstra.org. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
